Suprema – Revista de Estudos Constitucionais launches call for papers in English

2022-03-30

Suprema - Revista de Estudos Constitucionais, the scientific journal of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), has launched a call for papers for the fourth issue of the journal, to be published in the second half of 2022.

In addition to articles, reviews and translations received on a continuous basis, the issue will feature a thematic dossier entitled "The right to have rights", organized by Oxford University professor Andreza Aruska de Souza Santos, director of the Brazilian Studies Programme at that institution and a member of Suprema's International Editorial Board. The aim of the issue is to encourage debate on access to rights and justice, especially in the current social, political, and economic climate.

Internationalization

The publication of the public notice in English is part of the internationalization of the scientific journal, in order to provide greater visibility for academic production and increase collaboration with academics affiliated with foreign institutions. The journal accepts papers written in Portuguese, English, Spanish, French, and Italian.

Submission of papers

Papers related to the thematic dossier must be submitted directly to Suprema's website by 11:59 p.m. on April 15, 2022 (Brasília time).

Guidelines

The studies must be original and unpublished and must not be under evaluation in other journals or editorial spaces. Articles may have up to three co-authors, preferably with at least one of them holding a doctorate.

Other guidelines on text presentation and filling in metadata should follow the call for articles for the thematic dossier and the editorial instructions available on the journal's website.

Evaluation

The article is initially analyzed by Suprema's editorial team to check that it is in line with the journal's editorial line and the formal submission requirements. If it passes this sieve, it is submitted to a double-blind peer review, a technique that guarantees anonymity between the people reviewing the article and its respective author and allows for an impartial evaluation. To this end, it is essential that any kind of identification of authorship is removed from the document.

Further information

Further information is available on the journal's website or by e-mailing revistasuprema@stf.jus.br.
