STF launches New Issue of Revista Suprema
The latest issue of Suprema – Constitutional Studies Law Review was released on December 27, 2024, and is now available for digital access. The Supreme Court closed the year with a thematic dossier titled "200 years of Constitutionalism in Brazil: past, present and future". The articles in this edition examine the country’s constitutional journey from the Empire to the solid democracy inaugurated by the 1988 Constitution.
In addition to the constitutional discussions, this volume revisits the topic of structural litigation, introduced in the previous issue, and publishes the second part of the dossier "Structural Litigation in Constitutional Jurisdiction."
To meet the internationalization criteria required by indexing databases, this issue features three international articles by renowned scholars: Dominique Rousseau, a French constitutional law expert; Francesco Manganaro, an Italian professor at the Mediterranean University of Reggio Calabria; and a translated article by Professor Matthias Klatt from the University of Graz, Austria.
Interview
Contributing to the legal and academic dialogue fostered by the 17 unpublished articles featured in this edition, Suprema presents an exclusive interview with Professor Catalina Botero Marino. A distinguished Colombian jurist and director of the UNESCO chair on Freedom of Expression, she is a leading expert on freedom of expression and access to information — timely and thought-provoking topics in today’s world.
International Standards
The new edition of Suprema upholds its commitment to the highest academic standards. Key practices adopted to ensure the journal’s quality include a rigorous double-blind peer review process, a diverse selection of national and international contributions, the support of an editorial board composed of leading experts, and the assignment of DOI (Digital Object Identifier) codes to all articles.
For the first time, Suprema's editorial team has begun adapting to the growing use of generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools. In line with the best practices, the journal has taken precautions to safeguard research integrity, ensure the reliability and impartiality of AI tools, and maintain originality and innovation—challenges that arise in this evolving landscape.
