The Chief Justice of the Federal Supreme Court launches new edition of Suprema – Revista de Estudos Constitucionais
The Chief Justice of the Federal Supreme Court of Brazil (STF), Luís Roberto Barroso, launched, on Wednesday (13), the new edition of Suprema – Revista de Estudos Constitucionais. The biannual academic and scientific publication embodies the Court's commitment to remain open to constructive dialogue and to promote the exchange of knowledge with the academic community and the various segments of civil society, particularly through scientific knowledge and information-driven culture.
Suprema presents academic papers that articulate legal thought, especially in the field of constitutional law. It endorses current relevant themes, which often communicate complex realities, in Brazil and abroad.
Contemporary Problems
In common, the themes addressed in this issue deal with important contemporary problems in constitutional democracies. Among them, the following themes stand out: the issue of structural litigation in the context of Latin America; the right to environmental protection in the context of climate change; the challenges in the revision of the Affirmative Action Law in Brazil (Law No. 12,711/2012); and the modernization of the Judiciary in face of the challenges posed by digital technologies developments.
The new edition presents seven original articles, written by 14 authors from national and foreign institutions. The Journal can be accessed free of charge.
Accessible scientific production
Free availability has been part of the journal's history since its birth in 2021. The aim of making the latest in scientific production widely accessible stands in line with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4 of the UN 2030 Agenda, which deals precisely with the promotion of quality education.
Internationalization
In November, Suprema's website was fully translated into English in order to deepen the internationalization of the journal.
Suprema – Revista de Estudos Consitucionais is organized by the Secretariat of Major Studies, Research and Information Management (SAE) of the Brazilian Federal Supreme Court.
Suprema may be reached by e-mail for further information or questions regarding topics not listed on the Journal's website at: revistasuprema@stf.jus.br.
